How AISA detects the page language

What it is

AISA determines a page's target language from the page's real content, not from your Brand Context. It reads the actual text in a builder-aware way — including Elementor data stored in _elementor_data and WPBakery/Divi shortcodes — so an English page is recognised as English even when post_content looks empty. If the text is ambiguous, it falls back to the language assigned by WPML/Polylang, and finally to the site locale. The detected language is pre-selected in the SEO selectors.

Where to find it

The detected language is shown as the pre-selected option in the language selector inside the AI SEO block and in SEO Rotation (Auto / IT / EN / DE / FR / ES).

Requirements & tier

Works in all tiers. WPML or Polylang are optional — they improve detection for ambiguous content and terms, but detection works without them via real-content analysis and the site locale fallback.

How to use

  1. Open a post or page; the language is detected automatically from its real text.
  2. Check the pre-selected language in the SEO block or SEO Rotation selector.
  3. Override it manually (Auto/IT/EN/DE/FR/ES) only if you have a specific reason.
  4. Generate SEO — the same detected language is used, so the label and the output always match.

Questions people ask

  • Does it use my Brand Context language? No — that previously caused "EN page → IT SEO". It now uses the page's real text.
  • Does it read Elementor/Divi text? Yes — detection is builder-aware and reads text stored in meta/shortcodes.
  • What if the page has very little text? It falls back to WPML/Polylang's assigned language, then the site locale.
  • Why does this matter for Cloud? Generating the wrong language would waste credits — it was treated as a critical bug.
  • Can I force a language? Yes, via the selector in the SEO block or SEO Rotation.

Troubleshooting

If the wrong language is detected, verify the page actually contains text in the intended language (builders store it in meta). With WPML/Polylang, confirm the page's language is set. As a last resort, force the language in the selector before generating.
