What it is

AI SEO & GEO Assistant (AISA) is a WordPress plugin that uses AI to generate and optimize SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) data — SEO titles, meta descriptions, focus keyphrases, slugs, image alt-text, AI Context and an llms.txt file for AI crawlers. It works alongside Yoast, Rank Math, AIOSEO and SEOPress, or fully on its own (standalone). Installing and activating it is the first step; the moment you activate, AISA detects your environment and starts the guided setup.

Where to find it

WordPress admin → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin (to install). After activation it lives in the left admin menu as AI SEO & GEO (gold spark icon, positioned just before WooCommerce).

Requirements & tier

WordPress with admin (manage_options) access. AISA installs and runs on the Free tier with no license. To actually generate content you will later need either your own AI provider API key (Free / Solo / Pro / Agency / Studio — BYO-key) or a Cloud plan with credits. No API key is needed just to install and activate. It works on localhost / staging too.

How to use

  1. Download the AISA .zip package.
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and choose the .zip file, then click Install Now.
  3. Click Activate. On first activation AISA redirects you to the guided setup wizard automatically.
  4. If you already had AISA configured, it skips the wizard and you land on the Dashboard.
  5. Open the AI SEO & GEO menu to reach the Dashboard, Settings, 1-Click SEO and the rest.

Questions people ask

  • Do I need an API key just to activate it? No. Activation works with no key; you add a provider key (or choose Cloud) during setup, when you are ready to generate.
  • Will it conflict with my existing SEO plugin? No. AISA detects Yoast / Rank Math / AIOSEO / SEOPress and runs in integration mode, writing into their fields instead of duplicating output.
  • Can I install it on a local or staging site? Yes — this is a strength. With your own keys you can optimize the whole site before going live, which cloud-only AI in other plugins cannot do.
  • Where does the menu appear? As a top-level item called “AI SEO & GEO” with a gold spark icon, just above WooCommerce.
  • Does it run as Free forever? Yes, the Free tier keeps working with limits (premium features are available on 25% of content as a trial). A license unlocks Premium until expiry.

Troubleshooting

Wizard did not start after activation → the install was already configured; open AI SEO & GEO → Configuration wizard manually.
Upload fails with a size error → increase upload_max_filesize / post_max_size in PHP, or install via FTP into wp-content/plugins/.
Menu not visible → confirm your user has the manage_options capability (administrator).
Activated during a bulk/multisite activation → the auto-redirect to setup is skipped; reach it from the menu.
