Custom prompt and per-content-type templates

What it is

AISA lets you assign a template per content type and write a Custom SEO Prompt per template. "Auto" recognises the schema from the post type (products use e-commerce, posts use blog, pages use the page template); you can force a specific slot per type, including Custom 1/2. The Custom SEO Prompt lets you describe in plain language what you want ("base the title on the product colour…") and the Optimize Prompt button rewrites it into a precise technical instruction.

Where to find it

WordPress admin menu: AISA → SEO Schema Template — the "Template per content type" card for assignment, and the "Custom SEO Prompt" section inside each template.

Requirements & tier

Available with any provider mode. The Optimize Prompt feature is an AI call and is rate-limited to 10 optimizations per hour per user. In Bulk and One-Click you can also force a template for the run; a per-post override is available in the AI SEO Assistant block.

How to use

  1. Open AISA → SEO Schema Template.
  2. In "Template per content type", set each post type to Auto or a forced slot.
  3. Select a template, open Custom SEO Prompt, and enable it.
  4. Write your instruction in plain language and press ✨ Optimize Prompt; choose whether it runs before or after the base prompt.
  5. Save. In Bulk/One-Click, optionally force a template for the whole run.

Questions people ask

  • How does Auto pick a template? By post type: product → e-commerce, post → blog, page → page; unknown CPTs default to the post (Article) template.
  • Why is Optimize Prompt rate-limited? It is an AI call; the cap is 10 per hour per user.
  • Can I override per post? Yes — choose the template in the AI SEO Assistant block (default Auto).
  • Does a forced Bulk/One-Click template win? Yes, the run-level force takes precedence for that run.
  • Pre or post prompt? "Pre" prepends your instruction to the base prompt; "post" appends it.

Troubleshooting

If Optimize Prompt returns an error, you may have hit the hourly limit (try later) or no AI provider is available. If a type uses the wrong structure, check its assignment is not stuck on a forced slot. Invalid template data is rejected on save with an error notice, leaving existing templates untouched.
