AI alt text: AISA Vision vs the rest

Rank Math, SEOPress and AIOSEO all generate alt text with AI — some better than others. But none weaves the product name in, none respects the media language, and above all: none lets you go back.

Editorial comparison based on the official documentation of Rank Math, SEOPress and AIOSEO (checked 2026-07-16) and on the real features of AISA v1.99.916. Where the others do well, we say so: it's the same honesty principle behind our scores.

State of the art

Everyone generates alt text. The how makes the difference

Rank Math has the "Generate Alt" button (Content AI): it works in the editor and in bulk, but each alt costs 50 Content AI credits and generation is English only — a real problem on any non-English site. SEOPress PRO is the most complete of the three: multi-provider vision (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Mistral), bulk from the media list, even WP-CLI. AIOSEO generates alts in bulk with AI (10 credits per image) but requires the Plus plan + the Image SEO addon.

AISA Vision starts from the same place — a model that actually looks at the image — and adds what all of them lack: catalog context and a safety net.

What the others do well

SEOPress deserves respect: the multi-provider support is real, bulk from the media list works, and it even has WP-CLI (which is on our roadmap, not in the plugin yet). It also generates captions and descriptions, which AISA doesn't touch today. AIOSEO has a clean bulk flow. Rank Math put the button in the right place — it was the UX reference for ours. If your site is in English and you don't run a catalog, all three do a decent job.

Where AISA pulls away

The catalog, the language, and the go-back button

E-commerce

The product in the sentence

"Alfa & Beta, five-arm coat rack on a grey wall": the name enters the description naturally and is NEVER translated (Translation Fidelity glossary). None of the three does this.

Multilingual

The right language, always

A WPML/Polylang media marked ES → Spanish alt, even with no parent post. Rank Math generates in English ONLY; the others don't look at the media language at all.

Safety net

The Undo nobody has

Every run saves the previous values: "Restore previous alt" on a single image, "Undo last description" on the batch. Wrong provider? Don't like the tone? One click and you're back.

Try it on your catalog — risk free

Describe three images, look at the result, and if it doesn't convince you undo everything in one click. It's the most honest way to prove a feature.
