AI Search Context explained

What it is

AI Search Context is a per-page summary written for AI crawlers, exposed as an ai-context meta tag. It tells answer engines what the page is about in their preferred, concise format. These per-page contexts are also the building blocks that feed your site's /llms.txt document, making your most authoritative pages easy for AI engines to understand and cite.

Where to find it

You can generate an AI Search Context in three places: the floating AISA panel inside the editor (tick "Generate AI Search Context too"), the AISA → 1-Click SEO screen, or the box below the editor on a single post/page.

Requirements & tier

Available with Cloud credits or your own API keys. Generating a context is one AI call. The contexts you create become selectable in the GEO LLMS.txt manager. No third-party SEO plugin is required.

How to use

  1. Open a post or page in the editor.
  2. In the AISA panel, enable "Generate AI Search Context too" and run Generate SEO, or use the dedicated box under the editor.
  3. Review and edit the generated context if needed.
  4. Save the post. The context is stored and emitted as the ai-context meta tag.
  5. Go to Settings → GEO LLMS.txt to decide whether the page is included in your llms.txt.

Questions people ask

  • What language is it written in? The language detected from the page's real content (builder-aware), which is pre-selected for you.
  • Is it the same as the meta description? No. The meta description targets classic search snippets; AI Search Context targets AI crawlers and llms.txt.
  • Can I bulk-generate it? Yes, via 1-Click SEO or Bulk SEO, choosing the "AI Context" field.
  • Does it cost credits? In Cloud mode each generation is one credit; with your own key it is a few tokens.
  • Does it help with Google? Google does not consume it directly; it serves other AI crawlers and your llms.txt.

Troubleshooting

If the context comes out in the wrong language, check that the page actually contains text in the intended language (builders like Elementor store text in meta, which AISA reads). If nothing is generated, confirm an AI provider is configured (Cloud credits or an API key tested under Settings → API Keys).
