AI category intro text
What it is
Category archives (including WooCommerce product_cat) benefit from a short, original intro text that describes the category for both shoppers and search/answer engines, paired with the term's SEO title and meta. AISA's roadmap pairs term SEO for product_cat with an AI-generated category intro and a CollectionPage signal, generated from a 1-Click on the category. It complements the keyphrase/title/meta you set on the term.
Where to find it
On the term Edit form (term SEO block) and via 1-Click SEO for category-type content. WooCommerce category support (product_cat / product_tag) is enabled through the taxonomies list in Settings → Post Type.
Requirements & tier
Requires the taxonomy enabled; WooCommerce for product categories. AI generation needs a configured provider or Cloud credits. Translation Fidelity (DNT) applies, so product/brand names stay intact in the intro.
How to use
- Enable category taxonomies (and
product_catfor WooCommerce) in Settings → Post Type. - Edit the category to set its keyphrase/title/meta, or run 1-Click SEO for category content.
- Generate the intro text describing the category in the right language.
- Review and save; on multilingual sites it is produced per language.
- The archive serves the localized SEO (standalone) alongside the intro.
Questions people ask
- Does it work for WooCommerce categories? Yes —
product_catis supported via the taxonomy term SEO. - What language is the intro in? The category's language (per-language term SEO).
- Are product names protected in the intro? Yes — DNT keeps them verbatim.
- Is the intro unique per category? Yes — it is generated from the term's own context.
- Does it replace my hand-written description? Generation fills missing fields; you can always edit the result.
Troubleshooting
If no intro is generated, confirm the taxonomy is enabled and a provider/credits are available. For wrong-language output, verify the term is in the intended language and your multilingual plugin is detected. To stop names being altered, add them to the DNT list in Brand Context.
