Social/OG image and the site default

What it is

AISA manages the Open Graph / Twitter image used when a page is shared. When a post has no social image, AISA can auto-fill it from the featured image (or an image in the content). At site level you set a default social image that is used as a fallback; if even that is missing, AISA falls back to the WordPress Site Icon.

Where to find it

Settings → Social & SEO: the "Default social image (Open Graph / Twitter)" card with a media picker and preview. Per-post auto-fill runs in Bulk, 1-Click and the floating panel. In standalone mode AISA emits the Open Graph and Twitter Card tags itself (option aisa_default_og_image).

Requirements & tier

The default image and standalone OG/Twitter output are available with no AI cost. Per-post auto-fill is part of the SEO generation flow. In integration mode AISA writes into your SEO plugin's social fields; in standalone it outputs the tags directly.

How to use

  1. Open Settings → Social & SEO.
  2. Pick a default social image (ideally 1200×630) and save.
  3. Generate SEO for your posts: if a post lacks a social image, AISA fills it from the featured image.
  4. For pages still without an image, the site default is used.
  5. If no default is set, the WordPress Site Icon is used as a last resort.

  • What size should the default be? 1200×630 works best across platforms.
  • Does it overwrite a social image I set? No — auto-fill only triggers when the image is missing.
  • Does it work without a SEO plugin? Yes — in standalone AISA emits OG/Twitter tags itself.
  • What if I set no default at all? The Site Icon is used as the fallback logo image.
  • Where does the per-post image come from? The featured image, or an image found in the content.

Troubleshooting

If a shared link shows no image, set the site default, then re-share (social platforms cache previews — use their debugger to refresh). In integration mode, make sure your SEO plugin's social image field is not already set to an empty override.
