Set the social / Open Graph image per post
What it is
AISA lets you set a specific social (Open Graph / Twitter) image for an individual post or page. If you leave it empty, the post falls back to the featured image (or the site default). The value is stored in the _aisa_og_image post meta; in integration mode AISA can also auto-fill the social image from the featured/content image when one is missing, so your shares always have a picture.
Where to find it
In the Standalone SEO block there's an "Image social (Open Graph / Twitter)" picker: a URL field with Choose (opens the WordPress media library) and a clear (✕) button, plus a thumbnail preview. The helper text reflects the site mode — "manual" mode treats this image as the social preview, otherwise it notes the fallback to featured/default. In the floating panel, applying fields will auto-fill the OG/Twitter image if it is missing.
Requirements & tier
- The picker appears in the AISA standalone SEO block; the media library loads for the chooser.
- Auto-fill of the social image from the featured/content image runs in integration mode (Bulk, 1-Click and panel) when none is set.
- Empty field = use the featured image / site default.
How to use
- Open the post/page and scroll to the social image picker.
- Press Choose and select an image from the media library, or paste an image URL.
- Check the thumbnail preview.
- Leave it empty to fall back to the featured image / default, or press ✕ to clear.
- Save the post — AISA stores the per-post OG image (empty clears the meta).
Questions people ask
- What happens if I leave it empty? The post uses the featured image, or the site default if there's no featured image.
- Does AISA set a social image automatically? In integration mode, if none is set, AISA auto-fills the OG/Twitter image from the featured or content image during Bulk, 1-Click and panel apply.
- Is this Open Graph only, or Twitter too? It feeds the social preview for both Open Graph and Twitter cards.
- What's "manual" mode? When the site's OG mode is manual, this per-post image is the social preview; otherwise it overrides the featured/default fallback just for this content.
- Where do I set a site-wide default? In standalone, under Settings → Social & SEO (default social image plus per-content overrides).
Troubleshooting
- The picker isn't visible. It shows in the AISA standalone SEO block; make sure the block is rendering on this post type.
- Choose button does nothing. The media library must load; reload the editor so the media scripts initialise.
- Old image still shared. Social platforms cache previews; clear their cache after changing the image.
- Cleared image but it reappears. An empty field falls back to the featured image / default by design.
