Generate the slug and create a 301 redirect

What it is

AISA can generate the URL slug alongside the title, meta and keyphrase, keeping the focus keyphrase in the URL the way SEO plugins reward. When you change the slug of an existing, already-published page, AISA can automatically create a 301 redirect from the old address to the new one, so no link breaks and no traffic is lost. The slug is only forced when you (or the AI) actually change the field; otherwise WordPress keeps deriving the slug from the title.

Where to find it

The Slug URL field is in the Standalone SEO block (it is hidden for terms). In the floating panel the slug is produced by Generate SEO and applied to your SEO plugin/post. The automatic 301 on slug change also happens through the Auto SEO Fix box (optional slug correction) and in the bulk "Fix all + URL" group action.

Requirements & tier

  • An AI provider for generation (Cloud credits or your own key).
  • The 301 redirect is created when the slug of an existing post changes; AISA's redirects layer handles it.
  • Slug fix with automatic 301 in Auto SEO Fix is part of the AI-correction flow (Premium for the AI fix).

How to use

  1. Generate the focus keyphrase and SEO first so the slug can include the keyphrase.
  2. Edit the Slug URL field, or let Generate SEO / Auto SEO Fix propose one.
  3. Save the post. If the slug actually changed from the shown value, AISA updates the post_name.
  4. On an existing page, AISA creates the 301 redirect from the old URL to the new one automatically.
  5. For mass changes, use the "Fix all + URL" group action in the lists / Bulk — slugs change with automatic 301s in the background.

  • Will changing the slug break my links? No — AISA adds a 301 redirect from the old address, so visitors and search engines land on the new URL.
  • Does it change the slug every time I edit the title? No — the slug is only forced when the slug field itself changed; otherwise WordPress derives it from the title.
  • Where does the keyphrase fit? The focus keyphrase is placed in the slug, matching title and meta, which is what the SEO plugins check.

Troubleshooting

  • Slug didn't update. It only changes when the field differs from the original value; edit the slug explicitly.
  • Old URL still 404s. Confirm the redirect was created (Settings → Redirect & 404); the automatic 301 is added on slug change for existing posts.
  • Redirect conflicts with another plugin. AISA's redirects fire only when the page would otherwise 404, minimising conflicts.
