Enable AISA for post types and taxonomies
What it is
AISA lets you choose which content types it manages — posts, pages, custom post types, and taxonomies such as categories, tags and (with WooCommerce) product categories, tags and attributes. Enabling a type means it is counted in the SEO Health score, appears in 1-Click SEO and Bulk SEO & GEO, and can be optimized. You can also control Auto SEO on publish, which runs an AI optimization automatically each time a piece of content is published.
Where to find it
AI SEO & GEO → Settings → Post Type (post types and the “Enable Auto SEO on publish” toggle), and the taxonomy options in Settings. Term-level SEO appears on category/tag edit screens once the taxonomy is enabled.
Requirements & tier
Admin access. Optimizing categories and tags (taxonomies) is a Premium capability — on Free it is part of the 25% trial. WooCommerce product taxonomies and attributes require WooCommerce. Multilingual term SEO honors WPML / Polylang, generating in each term's own language.
How to use
- Go to Settings → Post Type and tick the post types AISA should manage (posts, pages, your CPTs).
- Enable the taxonomies you want optimized (categories, tags, and product_cat / product_tag with WooCommerce).
- Decide on Auto SEO on publish: leave it on to optimize automatically when content is published, or turn it off (recommended in Cloud if you want to control credit use).
- Save. Enabled types now appear in 1-Click SEO and Bulk, and feed the SEO Health score.
- Edit a category or tag to set its term SEO directly, or optimize them in bulk from 1-Click / Bulk.
Questions people ask
- Does Auto SEO on publish consume credits/tokens? Yes — each publish makes one AI call. In Cloud, disable it from Settings → Post Type if you don't want that.
- Can I optimize categories and tags? Yes, once the taxonomy is enabled. This is a Premium capability (Free covers 25% as a trial).
- Are WooCommerce attributes supported? Yes — product attributes (pa_*), product categories and tags can be used in templates and optimized.
- What about multilingual sites? AISA generates term SEO in the term's own language on WPML / Polylang sites; one 1-Click run covers all languages.
- Do custom post types work? Yes — enable them in Settings → Post Type and they are treated like posts/pages.
Troubleshooting
A post type isn't listed in 1-Click/Bulk → it isn't enabled in Settings → Post Type; tick it and save.
Categories don't show SEO fields → enable the taxonomy first; on Free it falls under the 25% trial.
Unexpected credit usage on every publish → Auto SEO on publish is on; disable it in Settings → Post Type.
Attachments counted oddly in Health → attachments are excluded from SEO post types by design.
