AEO: does your page actually answer? On WordPress, AISA helps you find out and fix it.

People searching Google and people asking an AI assistant want the same thing: an answer. If your page hides it among generic paragraphs, the engine takes it from somewhere else. Answer Engine Optimization is the work that makes the answer clear, early and verifiable. Here's what it is, how to do it, and which AISA tools help.

The definition

What AEO is

AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) is optimizing content so that the engines that give answers, from Google to AI assistants, can understand it and use it to answer people's questions.

It starts with one question: does my page really answer what the person wants to know? A keyword in the title isn't enough. You need an explicit title, a direct answer up front, follow-ups that clear the next doubts, and a structure that makes them easy to find.

Three acronyms, one page

SEO, AEO and GEO: different goals, same groundwork

ApproachGoal
SEOBe found and rank in search engine results
AEOAnswer people's questions directly and clearly
GEOGet cited in answers generated by artificial intelligence

A well-built page serves all three: it gets found, answers clearly and gives generative systems something to quote. Google says so too: there are no additional requirements or special markup to appear in AI Overviews and AI Mode, regular SEO best practices apply. In other words: no shortcuts, content is what counts.

The method

Four moves, with AISA's tools

1

Find the real questions

The SEO Consultant turns the searches you care about into real questions and asks them to an AI engine with web search: Perplexity, OpenAI or Gemini. You see whether you get cited and who shows up instead. The scan is free.

2

Answer right away

Where you're missing, the Consultant (Premium) proposes the article with an opening that answers straight away and an H2 outline phrased as questions. On existing pages, the content fix brings the topic into the first paragraph and a subheading, and fills out pages that are too short.

3

Make the answer readable

The Clarity panel measures readability as you write, with Flesch for English and Gulpease for Italian, and thresholds that fit your audience. In Premium, "Split long sentences" suggests how to break up the heaviest sentences, with a before and after preview.

4

Anticipate the next questions

The Q&A generator writes questions and answers from the page content, for you to review and approve by hand, with FAQPage structured data. Readers find their next doubt already cleared.

Supporting tools

The other tools that matter for AEO

Free

Brand Context

Who you are, who you talk to, what sets you apart. AISA uses it in every generation, so answers speak to your customers, not to any reader. The facts about your service, though, have to come from you: AI doesn't know your work better than you do.

Free

Writing DNA

Answering directly doesn't mean everyone writing the same way. Writing DNA learns the style of your texts and applies it to every generation: the site stays recognizable even when you optimize many pages.

Free

AI Search Context

For each piece of content, a summary written for AI engines: what the page is about, who it's for, what it solves. One more help to be understood, not a trick to be chosen.

Free

AISA Vision

Describes images and writes alt text based on the page context. It improves accessibility. But if an image holds essential information, that information belongs in the text too.

Free

Structured data

AISA proposes JSON-LD schema consistent with the visible content and the business's real data. It helps engines interpret the page; it doesn't guarantee the page gets chosen as the answer.

Premium

One-Click SEO and Bulk

When pages number in the hundreds, titles, descriptions and SEO fields are handled in bulk. Answer quality, though, is checked page by page: automation does the repetitive work, judgment stays with you.

An example

From generic pitch to useful answer

A page about SEO consulting for online stores.

Before Generic opening

"We offer innovative, tailored services to improve your company's online presence."

It introduces the service but doesn't say what it does, who it's for or when it's needed.

After An opening that answers

"SEO consulting for online stores identifies what limits the visibility of categories and products in search engines. It covers technical analysis of the site, customer searches and content, and sets the priorities for action."

The answer comes in the first sentence. The rest of the page can clear the next doubts.

After the opening, the H2s become the questions customers actually ask: what does it include? When is it worth it? What do you need to start? How are results measured? With AISA the revision follows your Brand Context and your style; checking that every answer is accurate is the job of whoever knows the service.

Ground rules

No plugin can guarantee you become "the answer"

Which source gets chosen depends on the question, the other sources available and the engine. AISA works on what you can control, content, structure and clarity, and with the SEO Consultant it lets you measure the result over time. The final choice stays with the engine. Be wary of anyone promising otherwise.

A longer text isn't a better text. A short, precise answer with the right follow-ups beats three paragraphs of filler.

Where to start

Pick an important page and run four checks

  • What's the main question this page should answer? Write it in one line.
  • Is the answer there, and does it come early? If you have to scroll to find it, move it to the opening.
  • Would someone who doesn't know you understand it? The Clarity panel shows where the text gets heavy.
  • Are the follow-up doubts answered? Add question-style H2s and Q&A, with concrete, verifiable facts.

Bring the method into your daily work

With AISA you optimize the page and improve the answer it gives, inside WordPress, alongside the SEO plugin you already use. The SEO Consultant scan, the Clarity panel and Q&A are in the free version.
